BiSep™-1100 High Performance Liquid Chromatography System

BiSep™-1100 High Performance Liquid Chromatography System (HPLC), manufactured by Unimicro Technologies, Inc., is a newly released separation system with good quality, reliability and accuracy.

BiSep™-1100 HPLC System is composed of detector and pumps. With modular design, the system is easily converted to microbore HPLC, which can save 75% of solvent and sample.

BiSep™-1100 Detector

Overview

The Unimicro Technologies BiSep detector is high-performance, multi-function system ultra-violet with a visible spectrophotometric detector, for use in high performance liquid chromatography. The BiSep detector uses a deuterium lamp as its light source and is intended primarily for analyses in the ultraviolet region. The BiSep detector incorporates both deuterium and tungsten halogen lamps. The deuterium lamp is used for ultraviolet applications, as in the BiSep detector, while the tungsten lamp extends the analytical capability into the visible region. Each unit has 3 measurement modes - single wavelength, dual wavelength and wavelength scanning. The dual wavelength mode performs simultaneous detection of two wavelengths, and can provide chromatograms of both the wavelengths, or a chromatogram of one wavelength and one ratio chromatogram. In wavelength scanning mode, the absorbance spectrum is measured. The wavelength scanning mode is designed to be used while the flow is stopped.

Features
  • Excellent S/N ratio performance

An improved optical system and a high-order digital filter have enhanced the unit's Signal to Noise ratio. Enhanced wavelength accuracy, reproducibility, and broader wavelength range measurement have heightened the unit's basic performance.

  • Advanced functions

The dual wavelength mode provides chromatograms or ratio chromatograms of two wavelengths simultaneously, and the wavelength scanning mode provides absorbance spectra. There is also a full set of Time Program functions.

  • No optical alignment needed when lamps are replaced

No adjustment of optical alignment is required when the lamps are replaced. The deuterium lamp has a longer life than previously, and the unit records the total time the lamp has been used.

BiSep™-1100 Pump

Overview

The pump is a dual reciprocating plunger solvent delivery module. It offers improved accuracy and sensitivity in the BiSep™-1100system. In addition to the delivery module, the BiSep™-1100 system also requires, at a minimum, an injector, column, detector, high voltage module and system controller. Note that each of these is purchased separately from the pumping unit. Please consult our neareat branch/sales office or agent regarding the components that are necessary for your system.

Features

  • High Gradient Accuracy and Ultra-Low Flow Pulsation

Both the duration and the magnitude of the pump’s flow pulsation are significantly reduced in comparison to conventional pumps. This is enabled by a design which drives the plunger at high speed and reduces discharge to a micro volume: 10µl per plunger stroke. This lack of flow pulsationcapacity to a micro column 10 allows detectors such as differential refractometers and electrochemical detectors to be used in their high sensitivity range, an application impossible with conventional pumps. The solvent delivery system also provides highly accurate gradent delivery in a semi-micro volume range.

  • A Range of Gradient Delivery Functions

The pump can be used in both low- and high- pressure gradient delivery modes. The high-pressure gradient delivery mode is highly accurate with minimum time lag.

  • Automatic Plunger Seal Rinsing

An optional automatic mechanism rinses the back of the plunger seal, precenting premature
seal failure due to crystallization of high-salt-concentration buffer solutions.
